When a skilled storyteller begins to tell a story, all ears, regardless of ages, usually perk up. This is because people of all enjoy listening to a story. The best stories are the sort that have a truth or a lesson woven into them. Even our Savior constantly told short stories or parables to those around Him.
Story Telling is an excellent skill to possess. It is most valuable when used for teaching. Storytelling does not take talent. It simply takes a little practice. These girls did an excellent job at practicing their story telling skills! Over the next few weeks the girls will continue to practice using their story telling skills to present the hymn stories to the rest of the group. In this way we will be working on earning two badges with one activity.
For the girls to earn the StoryTelling Badge, they will need to:
- Tell one story from the Bible
- Tell one parable of Jesus
- Tell one story about a lesson that God taught you.
- Tell one story which illustrates a character trait such as honesty or truthfulness. (Many of the girls accomplished this in class!)
